“Data from both national and local surveys show that as many as 50% of pathology reports for breast cancer are missing some elements critical to patient management” (National Comprehensive Cancer Network, USA 2009).
The gold standard for the breast cancer diagnosis /histology + molecular and cytogenetic examination FISH*/FISH+IHC/ is used to evaluate: a malignant process, resistance to antitumoral therapies and the prognosis.

* On the territory of the Commonwealth of Independent States Fluorescent in Situ Hybridization /FISH/ for diagnosis of breast neoplasia is performed in the Human Reproduction Problems Clinic only.
** Investigation of the delivered samples is possible.
